Dr. Dominik Reisinger
Specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine
What a child truly needs is often only apparent at second glance
That is why taking a close look is at the beginning of every encounter for me. I accompany children not only through illnesses, but above all on their personal paths to growing up, from check-ups and developmental questions to the very everyday issues that concern parents. I address the child with their fears and worries with the same attention as the professional questions behind them. I take the time to listen carefully and decide together whether something should be observed, evaluated, or treated.
I developed this attitude particularly through my many years of working with chronically ill children, especially those with cancer. Accompanying them through intensive and distressing treatments has shown me how important patience, trust, and empathy are in medicine.
I completed my pediatric training at the Vienna General Hospital (AKH), supplemented by formative training and research stays at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pennsylvania in the USA. I have been working at the St. Anna Children's Hospital for several years, currently as an attending physician (senior physician). In addition, I am dedicated to research in the field of pediatric diseases and am currently expanding my training in pediatric intensive care medicine.
