Genia Peer, BSc

About me
I am Genia Peer BSc, born and raised in Vienna in 1990. In 2023 I was able to become the mother of a wonderful daughter myself. This allowed me to experience pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period from a completely new personal perspective. This experience has deepened my understanding and empathy for this intensive phase of life and continues to shape my work as a midwife to this day.
As a statutory health insurance midwife, I accompany families on their journey into a new phase of life. It is particularly important to me to work in an evidence-based way and to continuously train myself in order to always be at the cutting edge of science. In my work, I attach great importance to meeting families where they are at the moment, in a non-judgmental and empathetic way. My aim is to empower parents and give them a relaxed start to family life.
I completed my degree in midwifery at the FH Joanneum in Graz and successfully graduated in 2012. From 2012 to 2015, I worked as an employed midwife in the delivery room at Klinik Landstraße. At the same time, I started working independently in the home environment in 2014.
From 2015 to 2017, I worked at the Goldenes Kreuz Private Clinic, both in the delivery room and in the maternity ward. I then worked in the Semmelweis Women's Clinic on the antenatal ward and in the delivery room from 2017 to 2019.
In 2019, I decided to become fully self-employed and attended births at St. Josef Hospital as an elective midwife. I also offered antenatal and postnatal care. Since October 2024, I have been working as a health insurance midwife in Vienna and look after families mainly in districts 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19.
