Pediatric Vaccinations are an essential part of preventive care and make a decisive contribution to protecting children from dangerous infectious diseases. Timely immunization can effectively prevent diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella and whooping cough.

Overview
Pneumococcal vaccination

The Pneumococcal vaccination is used for immunization against pneumococcal bacteria to prevent respiratory and other diseases. The PCV15 vaccine is included in the free childhood vaccination program.

One Vaccination against meningococcus is particularly important for children because it protects them from serious, potentially fatal diseases. At the same time, it helps to contain the spread of this infectious disease and thus actively contributes to public health.

Ticks are active throughout Austria and can transmit the dangerous TBE virus with a single bite - children in particular are at risk when playing outdoors. A timely and well-tolerated Tick vaccination offers effective protection against possible long-term consequences such as meningitis.

The Rotavirus vaccination is an oral vaccination for infants and young children from the 6th week of life. It provides effective protection against infections with this virus, which can cause severe diarrhea and vomiting.

One Vaccination against influenza effectively protects against illness and reduces the risk of a severe course of flu. The vaccination is recommended for children from the age of 6 months.

The MMR vaccination provides reliable protection against the highly contagious diseases measles, mumps and rubella. It prevents serious complications such as brain or lung infections and is recommended for all children from the age of 11 months.

The RSV vaccination offers effective protection against serious respiratory infections, especially in infants, pregnant women and the elderly. It reduces the risk of hospitalization and is administered passively or actively, depending on the target group.

The Whooping cough vaccination reliably protects against severe coughing fits and complications, which can be particularly dangerous in infants and young children. It strengthens the immune system at an early stage and is administered as part of basic immunization as well as through booster vaccinations.

The Tetanus vaccination offers effective protection against tetanus, a life-threatening disease caused by bacteria in contaminated wounds. It stimulates the formation of antibodies and is given as a basic immunization in childhood and regularly boosted by booster vaccinations.

The Flu vaccination protects your child from the influenza virus and significantly reduces the risk of serious illness. At the same time, it prevents the virus from spreading in the family, protecting babies, grandparents, pregnant women and people with weaker immune systems in particular.

Diphtheria is a highly contagious bacterial infection that can be particularly dangerous for children and can cause serious damage to the heart and kidneys if left untreated. A Diphtheria vaccination reliably protects children from the disease and severe courses.

The Vaccination against poliomyelitis reliably protects against polio, protects children and adults from permanent paralysis and helps to eradicate the virus worldwide.

The Vaccination against hepatitis A reliably protects children against liver inflammation, which can be transmitted through contaminated food or water. It prevents severe courses of the disease and helps to stop the spread of the virus.

The Vaccination against hepatitis B protects children from a dangerous viral infection of the liver that can last a lifetime. It prevents serious secondary damage such as chronic liver disease and helps to contain hepatitis B in the long term.

The HPV vaccination protects children early and effectively against infections with human papillomaviruses, which can cause precancerous lesions and various types of cancer later in life.

Varicella are a highly contagious viral disease that can be particularly distressing for children and in some cases can lead to serious complications. One Varicella vaccination reliably protects children against chickenpox and severe courses of the disease.

The Hib vaccination protects infants and young children early and effectively against serious bacterial infections such as meningitis, epiglottitis and blood poisoning.

The 6-fold vaccination protects infants and young children from 6 bacterial and viral infectious diseases that can be serious in early life.

The Corona vaccination protects children from infection with the coronavirus and reduces the risk of severe disease progression and possible complications.

The TBE vaccination protects children from tick-borne tick-borne encephalitis, a disease that can affect the brain and meninges.

The most important facts at a glance
Vaccinations reliably protect children from dangerous diseases and their possible complications. They strengthen the immune system and prevent the spread of infections in everyday life.
Many vaccinations begin in infancy and build up protection step by step. Modern vaccines are well tolerated and side effects are usually mild and temporary.
A complete vaccination status not only protects your own child, but also others. If you are unsure, your pediatrician is the best place to go.
