Renate Ottitsch

A good start in life begins with understanding, security, and trust:
For over 30 years, I have been accompanying families on their journey into parenthood as a midwife. Sixteen years ago, I expanded my work by training and becoming certified in CranioSacral Therapy at the Upledger Institute, and have since been supporting babies, children, and their parents to arrive well and find balance after pregnancy and birth.
Every baby brings its own story. Some newborns easily find their rhythm, while others show challenges such as sucking and feeding problems, sleep disorders, digestive issues, and regulation difficulties like excessive crying, restlessness, and increased tension. Birth is also exhausting for babies, and patterns of tension can remain stored in their tissues. Through gentle touch, I aim to help the system regain free movement and find its symmetry.
Parents are often uncertain and wonder what their baby needs and how they can best help them.
In my practice, I offer a compassionate baby check-up after birth, during the first few weeks of life, and I support families in better understanding their baby's cues. I impart knowledge about the still immature nervous system, adaptation processes after birth, and the development of self-regulation. This leads to a greater understanding of the baby's behavior and increased confidence in daily care.
It is important to me to empower parents, provide guidance, and create a space where questions, concerns, and uncertainties are welcome.
Because when parents understand their child, trust, composure, and joy grow in family life.
